BREAST CARE ALGORITHM IMPACT ANALYSIS
Problem: A medical system wanted to propagate the use of breast care algorithm aimed at the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. The algorithm was not being widely adopted due to its perceived complexity and impact on workflow.
Solution: A hazard analysis was performed to predict the expected reduction in breast cancer misdiagnosis due to adoption of the breast care algorithm.
Results: The study contributed to an increase in adoption of the algorithm across the medical system.
