PEER EVALUATION ANALYSIS

Problem: An outplacement consultant wished to administer peer evaluations of its clients to identify individuals in need of coaching or outplacement. Commercial evaluation tools and services were either too costly or complicated.

Solution: A web-based survey tool was developed that allowed individual staff to evaluate perception of their peers, supervisors, subordinates and themselves across various competencies. The results were stored in a centralized database. Analytic reports calculated “perception scores” which compared competencies of staff to each other and to changes over time. Average results were reported, as well as 95% confidence intervals to determine statistical significance.

Results: The survey tools were adopted by the consultant. Results were used to identify candidates for coaching and outplacement.
